eo sun prep

6 tbsp. sesame oil
6 tbsp. avocado oil
5 drops lavender essential oil
5 drops ylang-ylang essential oil

Mix all the ingredients together in a small bottle. Cap and shake the mixture thoroughly. Shake the mixture well before each use as well, since the oils may separate.
Apply evenly and sparingly to clean, exfoliated skin at least 30 minutes before going out into the sun. The oil must penetrate the upper layers of the skin for its protective properties to be fully effective.

Avocado oil conditions and protects: Oil from the fleshy part of the avocado is very beneficial for dry skin, as it contains high levels of vitamins, lecithin and unsaturated fatty acids. Avocado oil can be used as a light sunscreen and is good for long-term use, since it does not spoil easily. Be sure to use only cold-pressed, unrefined avocado oil.
Cold Pressed Avocado Oil is a high heat wonder, with rich stores of monounsaturated fat. The oil is best for high heat applications (Up To 450°F) like sautéing, frying and all-purpose cooking. Excellent for skin care and massage.

Sesame oil protects against harmful rays: Sesame oil, obtained by pressing the seeds of the sesame plant, provides the highest sun protection of all the natural oils. It is also very effective for softening and smoothing the skin. Be sure to use only cold-pressed, unrefined sesame oil, which has a fill, nutty aroma and is dark in color.

  • Natural suntan oils will keep for about 2-3 months. Refrigerate for maximum freshness.
  • Do not use oils that smell rancid, as they have lost effectiveness.
  • Do not add citrus essential oils to your suntan oil. They can cause brown spots to develop after sunbathing that can last for years or even a lifetime.
  • Natural suntan oil is not waterproof, so be sure to reapply after swimming.
  • If you are fair-skinned, it's best to stay out of the sun between 10:30 a.m. and 4:00 P.M., when the sun's rays are strongest.

afterSun

  • 1/2 cup distilled water
  • 1/4 cup witch hazel
  • 1/4 cup aloe vera gel
  • 4 drops Roman chamomile(Anthemis nobilis) essential oil
  • 2 drops geranium (Pelargonium graveolens) essential oil
  • 8 drops lavender (Lavandula officinalis) essential oil
  • 2 drops peppermint (Mentha piperita) essential oil
  • 8 oz. spray bottle
to make the spray, add the aloe vera gel, witch hazel and essential oil to the spray bottle. shake well. then add the water. shake well again.
after sun exposure apply a good amount onto the skin but not running off. the witch hazel will give a cooling feeling and the aloe vera and essential oils will help to calm the skin. wait a few minutes without disturbing the area, as this will allow the essential oils and aloe vera to soak into the skin. this won't take to long. reapply as needed.
ALLWAYS TEST the essential oils first and be sure that you don't have any health conditions affected by the use of the oil. If you do leave out that essential oil, the partial blends will still work.

            Sensitive about Tartar Control

Lots of people have a problem with sensitive teeth. I've learned that the tartar control toothpastes can, for some, lead to this problem. Evidently there is another part of the teeth that we didn't learn about in school. Tartar control toothpastes strip this invisible layer (it's called salivary peliclle) off of your teeth and slows it's reformation. The tartar then doesn't build up as easily (at least in theory), but it causes some people's teeth to become sensitive. Most toothpaste boxes now hardly even mention that they are tartar control, It's just a given.
Seeing as how Fluoride is toxic and traditional toothpastes (chock full of sugar) haven't helped I'm giving them up for more natural alternatives.

            Creamed Nettles {Gream Soup}

Every spring I like to try something new from the yard, this year I tried the stinging nettles, I've been wanting to for long while. Nettles are very high in minerals, especially, iron, calcium, magnesium, potassium, phosphorous, manganese, silica, and iodine. They also provide chlorophyll and they're a good source of vitamin C, beta-carotene, and B complex vitamins. Nettles also have high levels of easily absorbable amino acids. They're ten percent protein, more than any other vegetable. It is also very easy to recognise, seeing as how it STINGS you.

            Ingredients:

            • 1/4+ cup butter
            • 1/4 cup flour
            • 1+ cup milk (as needed)
            • soup pot full of nettle leaves
            • onions, mushrooms, zucchini, can of corn, leaks, cooked potatoes (optional)
            • salt and pepper to taste
            • dash nutmeg, lemon pepper, cayenne (optional)

            Preparation:

Nettles: pick lots of leaves, spring of fall is best. wear gloves, wash & chop. Fill the pot with leaves wet from washing, cover, low heat for 10-20 min 'till leaves are wilted. next I put them in the blender with more water (1 cup) if needed, if I have zucchini or mushrooms I steam them with the nettles and put them in the blender, too, but I put the onion into the blender raw.
while steaming the nettles I melt the butter over low heat. then blend in flour until smooth. Cook until mixture is smooth and bubbly. Gradually add milk and cook, stirring, until thickened. Add blended nettles and veggies. Corn can be added now. Cover and cook stirring occasionally, until hot. Season with salt, pepper, and others of choice. let cool, serve.

My husband said it was good but tasted/smelled like fish, not sure where that came from?
The kids helped me pick the nettles so there were stems and even some roots nothing I had read said to just use the leaves so I lest them in, BIG MISTAKE the stems didn't blend well so when I was eating I had to keep pulling out fibers and woody stems, and when carefully washing I must have missed a root or two because there was dirt in it... yum :/
But I thought the flavor was very good {I had 3 bowls} and would like to make it again.

            Stand Up For Freedom

This is a complete (long) recording of Ezra Taft Benson in 1966 and is as relevant as the morning paper (or blog)

"I think it is time for every patriotic American to join with neighbors to study the Constitution and the Conspiracy. Subscribe to several good patriotic magazines such as AMERICAN OPINION. Buy a few basic books, such as MASTERS OF DECIET and A STUDY OF COMMUNISM by J. Edgar Hoover; THE NAKED COMMUNIST by Cleon Skousen, recommended by President David O. McKay, in the General Conference of the Church, October 1959; YOU CAN TRUST THE COMMUNISTS by Dr. Fred Schwartz, and so on. And then prepare to do some independent thinking. And remember that the organized who have a plan and are dedicated though they be few, will always defeat the many who are not organized and who lack plans and dedication. The communists know this and have proven it. Isn’t it about time that most Americans realize it too?

In conclusion may I say that one of our most serious problems is the inferiority complex which people feel when they are not informed and unorganized. They dare not make a decision on these vital issues. They let other people think for them. They stumble around in the middle of the road trying to avoid being “controversial” and get hit by traffic going both ways.

To the patriots I say this: Take that long eternal look. Stand up for freedom no matter what the cost.
It can help to save your soul – and maybe your country."

            Preparedness Fair

This coming Saturday, March 13th we will be attending a Preparedness Fair being held at the Lodi Stake Center on 1510 W. Century Blvd.

My friends in the stake have worked hard getting ready for it. The one they had last year went really well. This year they will have lots of booths and demonstrations done with the help of local public agencies and many experienced volunteers. Topics will include:
            * Emergency food and waters kits for the home, car and workplace
            * Alternate sources of cooking
            * Home protection, home safety, security, crime prevention information
            * Different facets of emergency communications
            * Documents and important records preservation, child identification kits
            * Basic first aid information kits for home and car
            * Emergency needs for the elderly
            * Gardening in small containers
            * Cooking with food storage in an emergency

            Co-op Order

Most months we place an order with Azure Standard.
I usually order grains like hulled barley, millet, brown rices, oat groats, rye, and wheat grains. I love the brown rice pasta, it is a wonderfully easy way to get the whole grains you need into your diet. Canola oil, normally I would say isn't a good oil, but they sell a non-gmo cold press that is an exceptional oil choice. I get allot of my staples there my flax and sunflower seeds, stevia, 5 roll, realsalt, coconut, agave, grain & nuts cereal, and oat bran (the best). If I can, I try something new- this month I'm getting arrowroot powder, I'll be using it as an alternative for corn starch.

            NRA Family of the Year

On Monday night my family got together for family pictures, here is one of my favorites... it is my sisters and sister-in-laws, I'm the fat one in red...

(note to any Government officials: all guns in said pictures are fake, bb, pellet, airsoft, and/or barrowed, not belonging to any person in photo)
we're the second line of defense, here's our first line of defense...

Rudy is down in the front on the right with our boys by him- Noah in his arms, Phil by his side in the cowboy hat, and Isaiah (soon to be 12!) in the light blue kneeling to the left of Phil. All so good looking!

The brothers were asked to wear plaid with a country theme... but the other boys were only told collared shirts... girls were told solid shirts with no red or orange (obviously I didn't hear that part) with a family this big (40 of us) it is hard to get the same message to all!

            Charcoal Bentonite Mix

If I could have only one medicine or herbal remedy? I would choose this charcoal, bentonite mix for detoxing and cleansing. (You have to have flax, psyllium or some type of fiber mixed in because this can be binding which can defeat your purpose to cleanse and remove the source of your problem.)
Recipe:    We order from Pacific Botanicals, out of Oregon
parts are by volume not weight, this formula does not have to be exact to be highly effective. weights are approximate.

1 part food grade charcoal (1lb)

            1 part bentonite (2lb)

2 part ground flax (you can buy flax just about any where now) (4lb)

            2 part ground psyllium (3lb)

            Dosage:
Eat 1 t. mix with 2 or 3 heaping T. of apple sauce or water. (tastes like chalk.) on empty stomach, Drink a big glass of water. wait 30 min. before eating. If you can 3 times a day.
            Illness:
I have had children take one dose after having been nauseated to the point of throwing up. After one dose feel better. Even eat and be fine by that afternoon. Others who wouldn't take this mix, with the same symptoms would be sick for days.
Toddlers with diarrhea? This mix sweetens the whole gut and intestines. I keep plenty in my emergency storage arsenal.

            Fasting:
You know that headache you get from not eating, well, it's from the toxins your body is releasing and this mix will absorb them helping you to sustain your fast and more efficiently rid your body of the toxins. You do not want your kidneys to have to deal with that junk or have it get redeposited some were else in your body. Quote from my mom "I couldn't even fast until I started cleansing with this mix. I always thought it was my blood sugar that was making me sick, when I would try to fast. Now I know that I was just very toxic"
We have used this for flu, viruses, food poisoning, or diarrhea. So far for me any and all sickness have responded to this mix. Anything that involves toxins.

            Cleansing:
I would recommend everyone start NOW on a cleansing program with this MIX. So as to prepare for what is to surely come our way.
Use this MIX for the first week eating normal foods that you are used to eating everyday then the second week, remove all animal products OR not. You will still make progress, just not as quickly. Mild food would be best for really tough cases.
It also cleanses out heavy metals, poisons and toxins.
            Info:
It is rather tasteless, like chalk or dirt? mmm, yum!
the big difference between this and other types of cleanses is that it absorbs the toxins that are released by the cleanse, or by dieting, or fasting, or produced by sickness... if your not getting those toxins out they are often just settling in other areas (fat) and/or making you sicker (headache)
It also cleanses out heavy metals, poisons and toxins.

As far as I know it doesn't kill Parasites, What it does do- is clean up their toxic by products.
It can also help with Addiction.
Keep in mind What you are trying to accomplish.
Absorbing (Bentonite, food grade charcoal) and moving (Flax, psyllium or other types of fiber.) toxins out of the body.

Don't forget to flush yourself out with plenty of water.
The purpose of the water for those who don't know is that the clay and psyllium and flax will absorb all the liquid you got in your intestines, so in order for it to move through freely, it is important to drink lots of water, right after and maybe another glassful in 30 minutes etc, etc
Again, thank you for the interest and PMs. As promised here are the prices.
Fat is a survival mechanism, it is a storage place for our toxins. When we lose the weight it forces all of our toxins into our vital organs, that's why we gain back the same old weight. To protect our vital organs. To be healthy we must get rid of heavy metals and poisons.

Remember to Drink lots of water to help flush your body and to help insure proper bowel movements and to keep the toxins moving out more efficiently.

            Got my first gun today!!!

For my birthday, today, I was given a gun. I’ve been mentioning that I want one.

It is a brand new Power Line 15XT Semi-automatic Repeater! Wow, I am so excited; it is a .177 caliber, with blade and ramp front / fixed open rear sights, a smooth bore steel barrel, a 15 shot magazine, and a maximum shooting distance of 220 meters.

I can’t wait to do some target shooting with this little baby!

Not exactly what I wanted, but still it is a start… and the first gun that is actually mine!!!

            5th log

It's sample week, so like always, lots of school to do. I also have a CYBA meeting tonight.
Yesterday, I read a preparedness plan and wanted to share it- LDS Monthly Plan to Acquire Food Storage and 72-Hour Kit in One Year with Monthly Goals I thought if I fixed it up nice with some clip-art it would make a good hand-out.
We had a birthday lunch for Phil, with my family and the Beadles, lots of sandwiches and lots of cake.
